The blade features a Chu-Kissaki (medium-sized tip) and a SHINOGUI-ZUKURI (flat blade) design, with a width of 1.26 inches (3.2 cm) near the Habaki (blade collar) and 0.91 inches (2.3 cm) near the Kissaki (tip).

The blade is forged from folded steel, a process that involves repeatedly folding and hammering the metal to create 4,096 distinct layers.
